DJANEMAG: First question is a traditional one) Who came up with your nickname and what does it mean!? By the way, Thascya sounds cool!

Thascya: First of all, my mother gave me the name. Thascya is my own name and I didn’t want to create a specific name, I think my name is quite different, therefore I wanted to keep it as it is.

DJANEMAG: Why did you decide to become a DJ? Was it your dream from early years and was it difficult to start? Give some advice to girls, who are just starting their career!

Thascya:  It wasn’t really something arranged. I was always the called ‘party girl’ and loved music.  The passion for music grew in my life and an idea to start a DJ course came up so I decided to try for curiosity and from there things started to happen naturally.

It was never a dream, I did because I love music and I had friends who were in the music industry and they started to invite me to play in those events in my hometown.  People from another cities started to invite me to play afterwards. So then I didn’t really face it as a career it was really something I enjoyed. From there an Dj Agency invited me to be part of their casting, I actually started to face it as a profession right after.

Being a woman was eventually a barrier I had to go through, it wasn’t really common woman DJS in my country.  The fact to be a woman it was a newness to the industry so I had to gain the respect.  It actually opened many doors. I suffered a lot of prejudice.

Give some advice to girls, who are just starting their career! I would say study hard and try to be better than yourself.

DJANEMAG: Your experience as a DJ has taken you across the world. Which was your favourite country to perform in and why? Do you like to perform in your native country?

Thascya: I have a kindness and thankfulness for all the countries that I have performed in. However Brazil is where everything started and if it was not from there, I wouldn’t have conquered other countries.  It is the country that I have the most to be grateful for. Really for everything that has happened in all my career and brake frontiers.

DJANEMAG: Is there any country which you would really like to perform in or have you already played in your dream country?

Thascya: My dream is to play worldwide, I’ve played in 11 countries. There are still many to be performed in.

DJANEMAG: You have performed for some pretty big festivals with huge crowds of people. Do you have a special ritual to combat any nerves you might have?

Thascya: I always follow a prayer ritual and meditation on my own before every performance. Usually I do that in the hotel room and also dressing room.

DJANEMAG: Think about this one carefully. If you had to choose one celebrity DJ to go on tour with for an entire year, who would you choose and why?

Thascya: I would choose David Guetta, he is my biggest inspiration, the one I inspire always.

DJANEMAG: Do you have a specific goal in mind for your presenting career? Would you like it to take you to new successes?

Thascya: My biggest goal nowadays is to become a music producer and that my music turns out to be the hits.
