Spain requires a negative PCR test or proof of vaccination for UK tourists
Spain is now requiring tourists from the UK to present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 or proof of vaccination to enter the Balearic Islands, including Ibiza.
Ibiza, Mallorca and Formentera were recently added to the UK Green List, thus eliminating the need for quarantine.
The news excited many Britons, and the number of bookings and flights to the Balearic Islands skyrocketed.
However, due to the rise in UK cases of COVID-19 and the spread of a new "delta" virus, the Spanish government has decided to reintroduce some precautions.
Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain, announced that to visit any of the islands, all British tourists must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test result, which must be submitted no later than 72 hours before arrival.
